Acts 13:1-3
13 Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon (called “the black man”[a]), Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas[b]), and Saul. 2 One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.” 3 So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.
Just as quickly as 2024 ended, we have already finished our first month in 2025. And with that we have completed our 31 day fast as a Church body in participation with Kaleo’s “Fast 365” strategy. This initiative is a global prayer and fasting movement within the Kaleo International global family, aimed at praying, fasting for and going to preach the gospel among the world's last un-reached people groups. What are un-reached people groups? An un-reached people group is an ethnic group without an indigenous, self-propagating Christian church movement. Any ethnic or ethnolinguistic nation without enough Christians to evangelize the rest of the nation is an "unreached people group".
Throughout the entire year every region of Churches throughout the Kaleo network world-wide is taking a month to fast and pray specifically for the unreached people groups. Key Leaders from within Kaleo are going to these unreached people groups and reaching them with the gospel. It truly is an incredible move of God that we are directly connected to, and are facilitating through fasting and prayer. It is the same thing that the early Church did as Paul(Saul) and Barnabas began going to the unreached Greek speaking world to preach the Gospel. Fast, pray and go. The formula is simple, effective, and moves the heart of God as we participate in leading lost people to Him in the hardest and most remote places in all the world. After all, what better way to honor the name of our Church than to emulate the practices of the actual First Church that was established shortly after Pentecost happened in the Upper Room. Be encouraged that Jesus is doing something incredible in all the earth right now. You and I, along with all the Kaleo family, are directly a part of it.
